ION-X FLASHLIGHT

Two years ago we launched our ION Titanium Pocket Flashlight project and it was received very well. Over 3,000 ION's are now in the hands (or should we say pockets) of backers just like you! After reading comments from customers we decided to make a new larger version.

Introducing the big brother, the ION-X!

Premium Flashlight – ION-X is a durable, super bright flashlight with 1600 lumens which provides ultra-clarity in low light or complete darkness and designed for all general lighting tasks.

Sleek, Heavy-Duty Design – Boasting a simple, minimal look this bright LED flashlight is dense for durability, IP65 water resistant, and works well in hot or cold temperatures, so you can take it camping, hiking, fishing, off-roading, and for nighttime strolls.

Powerful Panasonic 18650 Battery – Utilizing Panasonic's latest 3500mAh lithium-ion cell, ION-X provides longer battery life and recharges more rapidly with a USB Type-C port to keep it powered up for every adventure.

USB-C Recharging Port –USB-C is becoming the new USB standard for recharging mobile devices. ION-X comes with a USB-C cable but can use practically any of your already existing USB-C cables from other products.

Removable Pocket Clip + Magnetic Tailcap Accessory – Offering versatile indoor and outdoor use this is more than a standard LED flashlight. Remove the pocket clip for a more streamlined look and store in your bag, backpack, or pocket. At your convenience, swap out the standard tailcap with the included bonus magnetic tailcap accessory and attach ION-X to a metal surface magnetically for hands-free use.

Multiple Brightness and Lighting Modes – The ION-X flashlight features a side button switch for one-handed operation and lets you swap between three moonlight settings, low, medium, high and maximum normal settings on the fly for optimal clarity.

Industry-best LED Emitter – ION-X's incredible brightness is provided by a Luminous SST40 5000K 20W LED emitter. By using this LED, we are able to pack a 1600 lumen punch in the palm of hands and in a clean neutral color.

5000K Color Temperature

Flashlights come in a variety of color temperatures but 6000K-6500K seem to be the most common. Even our very own past Kickstarter flashlight projects (e.g. XD, XR, XR2, ION, DART, etc.) feature this temperature range with the exception of our TL MICRO flashlight, which was a lot "warmer". However, we found that the 5000K color temperature is a great balance between warm (yellow) and pure white and offers a more pleasant viewing experience for general lighting tasks which is why we chose it for ION-X.

Overall, a 5000K flashlight is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a bright, efficient, and versatile flashlight with better color rendition when compared to a 6000K-6500K (white with blue tint) flashlight.

Mode Operation

Standard Modes:

From OFF, simply press and hold down to activate low power. Single clicks will cycle through the different levels; low > medium > high > maximum > back to low. From any of these modes, press and hold down to turn off and store that last mode into mode memory.

Moonlight Modes:

From OFF, double click to jump into the moonlight mode. Single clicks to cycle through the moonlight levels; low > medium > high > back to low. Press and hold down to turn off and set that last moonlight mode into mode memory.

Strobe:

From OFF, triple click to activate the strobe. Great for temporarily blinding a threat (for self-defense) or to annoy your friends, family, and co-workers (what we mainly use it for).

LED Indicator:

• Red: Battery is at less than 25%, recharge flashlight.
• Green: Battery is currently recharging.
• Blue: Flashlight is now fully recharged.

LOCK-OUT:

Locking out the flashlight when not in use is highly recommended. From OFF, simply click 5 times fast to LOCK-OUT. The LED indicator will then blink green to indicate that it has been LOCKED. To UNLOCK, click 5 times fast again, the light will blink and turn on to low power to indicate it has been unlocked.

Recharging Options:

You can use the provided USB-C cable and plug it directly into the flashlight or you can remove the battery from the flashlight and charge just the battery by itself using the 1-Port Lithium-ion battery charger which is included!

Standard Mode Runtimes:

• Maximum 1600 Lumens: 2.7 hours (you will not be using this mode very often, it is too bright for most daily tasks)
• High 800 Lumens: 2.8 hours (sometime used)
• Medium 500 Lumens: 3.5 hours (often used)
• Low 50 Lumens: 25 hours (most often used)

Moonlight Mode Runtimes & Strobe:

• Moonlight High 10 Lumens: 6 days (most popular setting for daily use)
• Moonlight Medium 5 Lumens: 12 days
• Moonlight Low 1 lumen: 36 days (theoretical)
• Strobe 1600 Lumens: 3 hours (used for self-defense/emergency situations/annoy your friends, family, neighbors, etc.)
